Head and Neck Cancer Australia is the only national charity dedicated to providing education and support to people living with Head and Neck Cancer.
The charity was launched in 2016 by a team of leading clinicians who saw first-hand the profound impact of Head and Neck Cancer and were passionate about driving change. Their personal commitment to Head and Neck Cancer Australia has resulted in a unique collaboration of patients, family members, carers and clinicians working to educate, support and reduce the cancer burden in some of the most disenfranchised cancer patients.
In March 2025 HANCA launched Australia’s first Head and Neck Cancer Helpline providing free specialist nursing and counselling support to people impacted by Head and Neck Cancer across Australia.
The incredible team behind HANCA provide life saving care to patients everyday and without their dedication and sacrifice I would not be here today to share my story. My Head and Neck Surgeon Dr Julia Crawford without a doubt saved my life on more than one occasion throughout my treatment. Her work not only as a surgeon but her role in research and development has made such a significant impact to the treatment of head and neck cancer across Australia. I am extremely grateful to have found Julia at the initial stages of my diagnosis and treatment. Julia was an instrumental part of my treatment journey and I am honoured to call her a friend today.
